What is polarization?

Polarization occurs when light hits a hard surface. It causes the light to change direction and reflect at a particular angle or orientation. Polarized sunglasses specifically cut out the light that is coming from that direction, limiting unwanted reflections, glare and making the overall image clearer and more distinct.
